    One table, about ten seats.

    Small on purpose. Everyone fits around the same table, so you actually get to see each other's pages and talk.

  2. 02

    No workshops. No productivity goals.

    Nobody's teaching and nothing needs finishing. You don't have to be good at journaling, or even have started yet.

  3. 03

    Bring whatever you're into lately.

    Your journal, favorite pens, the tape you've been saving, the stamps you want to show off. Swap some if you like.

How a table works

About two hours, give or take.

  1. Say hi, to everyone and their journals.

    A quick round of introductions. Tell us your “journal age” if you like: how long you've been at it, what you use, what's got you stuck lately.

  2. Show and swap.

    Pass around the tools and materials you brought. There'll be some communal tape and stickers on the table too.

  3. Journal together.

    Write, collage, draw, stamp, or just chat while you work. Nothing to finish, nothing to share unless you want to.

  4. Stay if you're still writing.

    The table doesn't clear itself. Order another coffee.

What is The Journaling Table?

A small, in-person journaling meetup. About ten people sit around one table to journal, swap stationery and talk. It started in Taipei and moves from city to city.

Is there a journaling meetup in Taipei?

Yes. The first one, Taipei 01 (台北手帳小聚), is on Saturday 10 October 2026, 10:00–12:00, near Ximen. It's free, with 10 seats. Request a seat on Luma.

Do I need to be good at journaling?

Not at all. Journaling for ten years, or opening your first notebook this week, both are fine. Hobonichi, Traveler's Notebook, bullet journal, scrapbook, a plain notebook: all welcome.

Can I come alone?

Yes. Most people do. That's kind of the point.

What should I bring?

Your journal, pens you like, and anything you've been enjoying lately: washi tape, stickers, stamps. You don't need to buy anything. If you have materials to swap, bring them. There are no swap rules.

Is it a workshop or a class?

No. There's no teacher and no curriculum. It's closer to sitting at a friend's table with your notebooks out.

What language is it in?

It depends on the city. Taipei tables are in Mandarin first and English friendly.
